What's this about?
Steve is a system for monitoring and recording students skills / experience with tools in Technology (Resistant Materials, Graphics, Food Technology and Textiles).
Health & Safety - transferable data
The system came about from a health and safety background. The idea is that a student's ability with tools can be recorded and transferred between schools / colleges with the student. This should give their new teachers / lecturers a good idea of how proficient they are with specific tools.
Training students
Steve will help you keep track of which students you have trained for what. Should the worst happen, you will know for sure whether you had trained the student to use the tool.
